There's something about Andys!

Andy (Dalongbloke) returned to the world of early morning adventures last Sunday. His car was fresh from a new axle rebuild having comprehensively 'lunched' his crown wheel and pinion all in the name of charity at an event at Dunsfold back in the summer. Giving rides and frightening the public into coughing up cash for a good cause is one thing, having the car off the road for 10 weeks as a consequence is even more charitable.

Having got up at 5 am to meet the RV time at 7.15 all the way up from the south coast to Farnham, you'd think the enthusiasm of being back in a 7 would have abated a little. Perhaps the excitement of finally being back in the company of fellow Sunrisers led to a moments loss of concentration, but even those nicely treaded road tyres didn't stop an off road excursion at the first opportunity. At a nice little set of bends, 10 mins from Andy's baptism in the Hindhead tunnel , he chose to take the cross country route off the road and through the undergrowth.

Admittedly it was damp and slippery, but when the third set of lights falls out of line in the rear view mirror the assumption is always a breakdown , rather than an off! Whilst waiting for the headlights to appear line-a -stern , Ian remarked that perhaps this Andy had also chosen the 'innapropriate parking' option that his name sake had very effectively taken a few weeks back (hinted at in 'Autumn Mist Blat, Bike and Bits' thread).

And it would have appeared so.

But with less of a consequence in this instance. A big divot of soil and grass, twigs, leaves and a few scratches to a newly sprayed cycle wing being the only apparent outcome. Hence the smile.Having discovered the limit, it takes a while to get your nerve back tho'. We look forward to Andy's second return to full operational capability ;-)

Andy's (Dalongbloke) 1st tunnel run.

Other Andy? All mended and ready for duty too. £7K later, that is :-0 Seems that inappropriate parking can be practised in degrees of extreme. But you'd never know it now with the welcome return of the blue R300 fresh from it's factory 'refresh' shall we say!

The R300 returns: How odd does it look in the full clothing of 'screen and hood!?
